Induction & Early Careers


Experience

Julian has worked in regional school improvement since 2017 when he was appointed as a leader of learning.  Julian is now the regional lead for NQTs and Early Career Teachers across the region working with partners across Wales to ensure that new teachers receive a consistent and high quality induction programme which is delivered within Partneriaeth. Julian is also the adviser who schools can contact about diversity within the curriculum. He represents Partneriaeth on national meetings with DARPL (Diversity and Anti-Racism Professional Learning) and ensures that all schools and settings across the region have a wide range of opportunities to engage in this work.

Julian has worked in education since 2003 qualifying as a teacher in 2008 and has led humanities and social sciences departments in schools in London and in Birmingham.  He is an experienced examiner of A Level Psychology. Julian is a chair of governors in a primary school and in 2024 completed his MA (Ed) with a focus on ALN and supporting learners who have experienced early trauma.
